Paul is the third generation to be involved in the family real estate development business. The business was started as a construction company in 1907 by his Grandfather and originally based in Northeastern New Jersey. Paul opened a Florida office in 1983 and changed the focus of the business from office development to retail development.
From his former role as President which is now filled by his son, Shields, to his current role as Chairman, Paul has successfully guided the company through two recessions. His vision and understanding of the development business has enabled the company to expand to three Florida offices while maintaining an office in New Jersey. Also, an office was recently opened in Atlanta, Georgia. Under Paul’s direction the company’s 20 person plus team has completed over 3,000,000 square feet of retail development and currently has numerous projects under development.
Paul was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and grew up in New Jersey. He attended The University of Florida majoring in the Department of Building Construction. His love of the outdoors especially beaches and water always kept him close to Florida. Today, Paul enjoys fishing and boating with his wife, Victoria, and family to include his Labrador retrievers. He is also a Director of the Florida Audubon Society.
Paul supports many local charities including Safe Harbor Haven, K-9 for Warriors, Ronald McDonald House, Cathedral Arts Project, and United Cerebral Palsy. He now plans to devote more time to these programs and include helping handicapped and underprivileged children as well as animal rescue programs.

As President of The Ferber Company, Shields oversees all aspects of the company’s operations, spearheading the growth and acquisition strategy, driving the redevelopment and repositioning of the company’s portfolio, and directing the company’s leasing, marketing and property management functions.
Shields began his career at the Lincoln Property Company in 1993, where he was responsible for an institutional-grade portfolio of Class A office buildings.
Shields joined his father at The Ferber Company in 1999, bringing with him an institutional mindset and execution to the company to help grow and expand the family business. His vision and strategic leadership moved the company’s focus from office development to investment-grade retail development.
Shields is dedicated to numerous civic groups. He currently serves on the board of the Gulfstream School, in Gulfstream, Florida, and is a past board member of the United Cerebral Palsy of South Florida.
A graduate of University of Richmond, he holds a master’s degree from New York University in Real Estate Finance.

Chief Operating Officer
As chief operating officer, Steve leads the retail development team in identifying, planning, leasing and stabilizing viable retail projects throughout the eastern United States.
Prior to joining The Ferber Company, Steve was president, Commercial Division, for Kitson & Partners, a private residential and commercial real estate investment and development company based in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, where he was responsible for 1.6M square feet of operating shopping centers and seven million square feet of commercial entitlements.
Steve also spent four years sourcing, acquiring and developing single-tenant and shopping center projects in Florida as well as the mid-Atlantic and metropolitan New York City markets. He managed the development and acquisition teams for a number of retail and restaurant chains including Eckerd Corporation, Boston Market, Einstein Bagels and Taco Bell during the prior 19 years.
Steve holds an MBA in Real Estate/Finance and a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Florida.

Chief Financial Officer
For nearly 10 years, Stacey has provided insight and recommendations to both short-term and long-term growth plans for The Ferber Company. She has extensive experience in financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and is responsible for the company’s accounting department, investments and asset management. Stacey also represents the company to banks, financial partners, institutions and investors.
Prior to joining The Ferber Company, Stacey was with The Griggs Group CPAs in Ponte Vedra where she was responsible for individual, controlled group, non-profit, estate, corporate, partnership, multi-state tax returns, as well as compilation and review engagements and audits.
Stacey earned her B.A. in English from California State University in Sacramento, and her B.A. in Accounting from the University of North Florida, Jacksonville. She passed her CPA exam in 2000.
